지진에 대비하는 미국의 2011년 국가수준 훈련

All 50 states and all U.S. territories are vulnerable to earthquakes. Anywhere earthquakes have occurred in the past, they can happen again. Over the next several months FEMA and its federal partners, non-governmental organizations, and state and local officials will collaborate on a series of outreach efforts to promote earthquake preparedness across the nation.

These events are designed to educate Americans on what they can do to be better prepared for earthquakes, as well as other catastrophic events.

National Level Exercise: May 16–20, 2011

The week-long capstone event in the National Level Exercise in which all participating Federal, State, Tribal and Private Sector entities interact to test the eight overarching Exercise Objectives defined during the planning process for NLE 11 at all levels of government (Federal, State and Local).

We are continuously monitoring real world events and assessing their impact on the exercise. At this time, several adjustments have been made to the exercise, most notably in the level of play for those regions actively engaged in disaster operations.

이 주 내내 시행되는 국가 수준 훈련의 정점은 모든 연방, 주, 다민족과 민간부문이 서로 협력하여 정부(연방, 주, 지역)의 모든 수준인 NLE 11을 위한 계획을 수립하는 동안 정해진 매우 중요한 8가지 훈련 목표들을 시험연습한다. 우리는 지속적인 관찰을 하여 훈련에 대한 그들의 영향을 평가한다. 이번 훈련에는 여러가지가 변경되었고 특히 재난지역에 대한 능동적인 작전을 위해 활동 수준을 가장 염두에 두었다. 

지진 준비 조언

그 동안 지진은 때때로 서부해안 현상으로 여겨져 왔지만 미 중부에 있는 뉴 마드리드 단층을 포함하여 45개 주의 미국 영토가 지진에 대한 위험성이 높다. 지진이 언제 발생할지에 대한 예측은 불가능하므로 당신과 당신의 가족은 앞으로의 시간에서 준비를 하는 것이 중요하다.
